Pharmacy Tech The State Board of Education, in conjunction with the Louisiana Board of Pharmacy, has established the “Pharmacy Technician” course. This program, offered to high school seniors, affords students the ability to earn high school credit while working toward certification as a Pharmacy Technician. Presently, the State Department of Education furnishes the Pass Assured software program to the students at no charge ($250 each if bought privately).
This course is
a stepping stone for a multitude of paths during the college and
post-college years. It is an advanced course with specific
pre-requisites; however, the rewards can be immense.
Forensic Science The forensic sciences form a vital part of the entire justice and regulatory system. Forensic scientists are involved in all aspects of criminal cases, and the results of their work may serve either the defense or the prosecution. It is the goal of the scientist to use all available information to determine the facts and, subsequently, the truth. (www.aafs.org) This class aims to give the students a “taste” of the field of forensics. Students will learn the many roles and skills related to Forensic Science as well as work through simulated crime scenes and scenarios.
